Updated October 2026. Tennis City SF › Tennis Courts in Russian Hill & Nob Hill
Alice Marble Courts sit on top of Russian Hill at Greenwich and Hyde Streets, with 4 tennis courts that are all reservable on rec.us for $5 per court per hour, plus a practice wall. There are no lights and no restrooms, so plan on daylight play.
Where the courts are
Rec.us lists the address as 1200 Greenwich St and places the courts on the east side of the park, entered from Hyde Street or Greenwich Street. Rec & Park notes the site sits atop Russian Hill next to George Sterling Park. The courts are named for Alice Marble, who won 18 Grand Slam titles between 1936 and 1940. The courts are unlocked.
Courts and booking
| Court | Release | Slots |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 3 | 7 days ahead at 8am | 90 minutes at 7:30am, 9am, 10:30am, noon, 1:30pm, 3pm and 4:30pm (6pm during Daylight Saving Time) |
| 4 | 2 days ahead at noon | 60 minutes, on the hour |
Every court is reservable, but an unbooked court is open for walk-up play, and a booking nobody claims 15 minutes after the start time becomes walk-up time. Rec & Park limits each person to 1 reservation a day and 3 a week, for individual play only. See how to book a tennis court.

FAQ
Do the Alice Marble tennis courts have lights?
No. Rec.us lists court hours of 7:30am to 7:30pm, and the last reservation slot starts at 4:30pm, or 6pm during Daylight Saving Time.
Can I play at Alice Marble without a reservation?
Yes, on any court nobody has booked, and on a booked court once 15 minutes pass with no one claiming it. All 4 courts are reservable, so a booking is the only way to be sure of a court.
Is there a hitting wall at Alice Marble?
Yes. Rec & Park and rec.us both list a practice wall.
