24 of San Francisco’s 64 public tennis sites have lights, so you can keep playing after sunset, which comes before 5pm in December. Lit courts are in demand on weekday evenings, so book ahead where you can.

Tips for night tennis
- Light schedules and switch-off times are posted at each site; they vary by park.
- Goldman Tennis Center is open until 10pm on all 16 courts.
- Presidio Wall Playground does not allow lights and closes at 6pm from November to February.
- Evenings get cold and windy, especially on the west side. Bring a layer.
