SoMa has no public tennis courts in the city directory, so the nearest listed sites for Moscone Center visitors are in Mission Bay and Potrero Hill. All three sites there have lights: Mission Creek Park has a walk-up court, and Potrero Hill Rec Center and Jackson Playground have reservable courts with evening slots.

All three are in Potrero Hill & Mission Bay.
Early-morning options
- Potrero Hill court 2: 60-minute slots on the hour, with the first at 7am. It releases 2 days ahead at noon, which suits a conference schedule you only know a couple of days out.
- Potrero Hill court 1: 90-minute slots from 7:30am, released 7 days ahead at 8am.
- Jackson Playground: 90-minute slots from 7:30am, released 2 days ahead at noon.
- Mission Creek Park: walk-up only. Rec & Park lists park hours of 6am to 10pm; court hours are not listed separately.
Lighted evening options
- Potrero Hill Rec Center: court 1’s last slot starts at 7:30pm and court 2’s at 8pm, with court hours until 9pm. Rec.us places the courts north of the rec center, entered via Arkansas Street.
- Jackson Playground: the last 90-minute slot starts at 7:30pm, with court hours until 9pm. Rec.us places the court on the south side of the park, entered via Mariposa Street.
- Mission Creek Park: one lighted walk-up court.
- Mission Dolores Park in the Mission: 6 lighted courts, with 7:30pm slots on courts 1 and 2 and court hours until 9pm. See the Dolores Park guide.
Rec.us bookings cost $5 per court per hour, with 1 reservation a day and 3 a week per person. A booking left empty for 15 minutes becomes walk-up time. See how to book a tennis court, or the full list of lighted courts.
Getting there from Moscone Center
- T Third Street: runs from Yerba Buena/Moscone Station through 4th St & Brannan St, 4th St & King St, 3rd St & Mission Rock St and UCSF/Chase Center in Mission Bay. SFMTA says a T Third bus replaces the train from 5am to 6am on weekday mornings and 5am to 8am on weekend mornings.
- Potrero Hill: the 19 Polk stops at De Haro St & Mariposa St, the 55 Dogpatch at Connecticut St & 17th St and 20th St & Missouri St, and the 22 Fillmore at 16th St & Wisconsin St.
- Dolores Park: 16th St Mission BART is at 2000 Mission Street, and the J Church stops at Right Of Way/18th St.
Tip: for a hit before morning sessions, Potrero Hill court 2’s 7am slot is the earliest reservable start on this page. For an after-dinner match, the Potrero Hill and Jackson slots at 7:30pm or later run under lights.
