Updated October 2026. Tennis City SF › Playing Tennis While Visiting San Francisco
The most reliable drop-in tennis in San Francisco is the Goldman Tennis Center round robin: four sessions a week, $30 to $47, with players rotating partners every 15 to 20 minutes. Tennis Coalition SF also runs a $10 social doubles night at Goldman about once a month. If you are solo with no booking, the Slack group is the fastest way to find a game.

Dropping in at a public court
Rec & Park walk-up courts are free, but you need someone to play with. Under the posted rules, a single player may not hold a court when two or more people are waiting, and when four players are waiting they must take the next court together for doubles. Tip: if you are alone, post a time and court in the Tennis City SF Slack group before you go. See finding a partner and how to ask someone to hit.
